The National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Afoko has said the NPP remains the only source of hope for Ghanaians.<\/p>\n
He made the comment at the NPP press conference on Wednesday, which was aimed at preparing the rank and file of the party to vote for a flagbearer on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The country has been battling with various economic challenges including the rising budget deficit and high inflation rate among others.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”zfyA6urPeffNAAeB1n0196A3Nmtx7QeV”]New reports indicate that Ghana’s inflation rate as of September stands at 16.5 percent<\/span><\/strong><\/a>.This is the highest since December 2009.<\/span><\/p>\n Though President Mahama believes Ghana will overcome its economic challenges<\/span><\/strong><\/a>,the\u00a02012 Presidential Candidate of the NPP, Nana Akufo Addo is pessimistic about the long-term prospects of Ghana’s economy.<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Paul Afoko told party delegates to go into Saturday\u2019s election united, and have in mind that their next flagbearer could be the next president of Ghana.<\/p>\n The Party has faced intense criticism due to internal wrangling within the party.<\/p>\n A press conference held by the NPP in August turned bloody when some party<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>supporters stormed the party\u2019s headquarters with machetes.<\/p>\n
