{"id":56564,"date":"2014-10-15T06:00:17","date_gmt":"2014-10-15T06:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=56564"},"modified":"2014-10-15T09:26:38","modified_gmt":"2014-10-15T09:26:38","slug":"kufour-must-vote-to-clear-himself-apraku-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/10\/kufour-must-vote-to-clear-himself-apraku-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Kufour must vote to clear himself \u2013 Apraku"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Spokesperson for a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, Osman Ahmed has advised former president John Agyekum Kufour to vote in the party\u2019s upcoming presidential primaries to clear all doubt about his position.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Many in the NPP accuse the former president\u00a0 who is considered an elder of the party of taking sides in the constest for the presidential slot by supporting Alan Kyeremanteng&#8217;s bid against the favourite for the position, Nana Akufo-Addo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The two contested for the slot in the 2008 and 2012 elections with Mr. Kyerematen losing on both occasions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;3SVNLzvCe0yOKOYoXzNTlH1avelpCv0w&#8221;]Some party supporters attribute the party&#8217;s last two defeats to president Kufour due to his supposed support for Kyerematen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Although Mr.\u00a0 Kufour has\u00a0 refuted these claims, the perception still lingers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/08\/31\/npp-congress-kufour-abstains-from-voting\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\">He also abstained from voting in the NPP\u2019s Super Delegates Congress<\/span><\/a> <\/strong><\/span>in August and\u00a0 media reports indicate that <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/10\/14\/i-wont-vote-for-nana-addo-or-alan-kufuor\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>he will not be voting again<\/strong><\/span><\/a> in the October 18 Congress.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But some supporters in the party are unhappy with his decision.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking on the <b>Citi Fm&#8217;s Eyewitness News<\/b> on Tuesday, Osman Ahmed explained that \u201cthere is perception out there about divisions within our party that the former president has taken sides on numerous occasions which he has come out to disclaim.
