{"id":56042,"date":"2014-10-13T17:11:53","date_gmt":"2014-10-13T17:11:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=56042"},"modified":"2014-10-13T17:17:27","modified_gmt":"2014-10-13T17:17:27","slug":"dangote-also-reduces-cement-prices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/10\/dangote-also-reduces-cement-prices\/","title":{"rendered":"Dangote also reduces cement prices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Another cement company, Dangote, has reduced prices of its cement by GHc2.70.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This follows the <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/09\/26\/infograph-see-the-cedis-steady-rise\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\">gradual appreciation of the Cedi<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span> against the dollar and other major international trading currencies for some time now.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the Sales and marketing manager of Dangote Cement Ghana Limited Joeseph Kobina Abu, &#8220;what we have done now is to reduce the price from GHc30.75 to GHc28.05 &#8220;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;CMXDNhpWDF6Sxc5h8S5S6Ka3FrlPxiJ3&#8243;]The downward price revenue by Dangote Cement took effect on the October 9.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This was a day <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/10\/07\/ghacem-reduces-cement-price-marginally\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\">after GHACEM Cement reduced the price of their products<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span> by Ghc2 for similar reasons.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to GHACEM the ex-factory price of its 50kg cement bag had been reduced from GHc30.55 to GHc27.965.<br \/>\nThe more than 30% depreciation of the cedi in the first half of 2014 hugely impacted businesses contributing to a rise in cost of production.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Most businesses transferred the extra cost to consumers , translating into the increase in prices of goods on the market.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The reaction by the two market leaders (GHACEM and Dangote) reiterate the huge competition between them and efforts to control the market.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By: Rabiu Alhassan\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Another cement company, Dangote, has reduced prices of its cement by GHc2.70.
