{"id":5508,"date":"2014-03-11T19:33:55","date_gmt":"2014-03-11T19:33:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=5508"},"modified":"2014-03-11T19:33:55","modified_gmt":"2014-03-11T19:33:55","slug":"security-in-tamale-increased-after-clashes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/03\/security-in-tamale-increased-after-clashes\/","title":{"rendered":"Security in Tamale increased after clashes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/police3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-4587\" alt=\"GHANA-VOTE-RESULT\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/police3-300x199.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/police3-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/police3.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The Northern Regional Minister, Bede Anwataasumo Ziedeng has indicated that the police has increased the security measures in Tamale to ensure that calm is restored to the area.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on <strong>Eyewitness News<\/strong>, the Minister explained that \u201cwe have reviewed the situation and from tonight, we are going to have joint-military patrol in Tamale till we have achieved complete normalcy in the area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A youth group suspected to be supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Tamale reportedly attacked Tamale based Radio Justice and destroyed property belonging to the station.<\/p>\n<p>Sources on the ground reported that they went there to attack the\u00a0deputy Secretary to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"f4894e9e-83f1-41ae-bd84-166f226ccd7d\">Tamale central constituency<\/span><span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"5bdd1136-3328-4989-b77f-a96f6e7285de\"> ,<\/span> Ahmed <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"4bf71342-32b2-4ab5-89dc-01356ffdb23b\">Faisal\u00a0 who<\/span> featured on the station\u2019s newspaper review discussion program <span class=\"GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark\" id=\"5766ccc6-2c8a-446e-bba6-2de53aafdb34\">onTuesday<\/span> March 11, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The attack on the radio station has been attributed to the comment made by Mr. Faisal on the death of one Mustapha Abdul Rashid, who was killed on Monday 11, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>He was killed near the Tamale Aboabo forest by people suspected to members of the NPP Kandaha Boys.<\/p>\n<p>The Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh further explained that the \u201ccomments made by the Ahmed Faisal concerning the death of \u00a0Rashid did not go down well with the residents of the area who decided to attack the station.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA motorbike was completely burnt, and wind screen was also smashed.
