{"id":54902,"date":"2014-10-09T12:06:22","date_gmt":"2014-10-09T12:06:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=54902"},"modified":"2014-10-09T14:39:27","modified_gmt":"2014-10-09T14:39:27","slug":"pac-continues-sitting-in-tamale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/10\/pac-continues-sitting-in-tamale\/","title":{"rendered":"PAC continues sitting in Tamale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Scrutiny of the expenditure of all district assemblies in the three regions of the north by the\u00a0Parliament\u2019s Public Accounts Committee (PAC)\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">is currently underway.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Some district assemblies in the Upper East Region will take their turn on Thursday followed by those in the Northern Region scheduled for Friday October 10, 2014.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Members of the committee on Wednesday October 08, 2014, <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/10\/08\/pac-grills-nr-district-assemblies\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\">began a three day meeting with some six district assemblies<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span> in the Upper West Region who were queried by the Auditor Generals Department on their expenditure from 2010 to 2012.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;3q6d2mocjcLEEKPhxKxC7yqXwzk2u94i&#8221;]At the beginning, the PAC members led by their Acting Chairman, Hon. Robert Sarfo Mensah were unimpressed with the responses given.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Some of the District Finance Officers and their Coordinating Directors demonstrated their naivety on simple administrative procedures.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">They failed to explain why some monies from the District Assembly Common Fund and other statutory funds were spent with total disregard to laid down financial regulations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For instance, the Wa Municipal Assembly could not produce official receipts or supporting documents for GHC19, 656.6 spent on some supposed development projects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Wa Central, Wa East, Wa West, Sisala East, Sisala West, Nadowli and Lawra districts in the Upper West Region appeared before the PAC.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By: Abdul Karim Naatogmah\/citifmonline.com<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Scrutiny of the expenditure of all district assemblies in the three regions of the north by the\u00a0Parliament\u2019s Public Accounts Committee (PAC)\u00a0is currently underway.
