{"id":54841,"date":"2014-10-09T06:43:33","date_gmt":"2014-10-09T06:43:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=54841"},"modified":"2014-10-09T06:43:33","modified_gmt":"2014-10-09T06:43:33","slug":"order-nss-board-to-step-aside-ndc-cadres-to-mahama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/10\/order-nss-board-to-step-aside-ndc-cadres-to-mahama\/","title":{"rendered":"Order NSS Board to step aside &#8211; NDC Cadres to Mahama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The United Cadres Front (UCF) is calling on President Mahama to expedite action on persons who are found culpable in recent corruption cases in the public sector.<\/p>\n<p>The group wants the President to direct the management Board of the NSS to step aside for investigations to begin.<\/p>\n<p>The National Service Secretariat<a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/10\/02\/rot-at-national-service-scheme-about-gh%C2%A27-9m-paid-to-ghost-personnel-in-a-month\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\">paid GHC7.9 million to 22,612 non-existent national service persons<\/span><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0in more than 100 districts in July 2014.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;747SrzcQqkOb92Oyw2dtj0WnMZQe0dOJ&#8221;]According to the findings, the NSS Director, Ahaji Alhassan allegedly\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/10\/03\/rot-at-nss-director-tried-to-influence-case-with-gh%C2%A2100000\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\">tried to bribe the investigators<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0a sum of about GH\u00a2100,000\u00a0in an attempt to\u00a0silence the BNI team.<\/p>\n<p>Though several<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/10\/06\/nss-board-chair-must-be-sacked-ufp\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><b>\u00a0<\/b><strong>individuals<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/10\/06\/nss-board-chair-must-be-sacked-ufp\/\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0<\/a>and<span style=\"color: #666699;\">\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/10\/07\/dissolve-nss-board-now-fgj-urges-mahama\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>groups<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0have asked for the dissolution of the Board the Deputy Minister of Tertiary Education has said the Board will not be dissolved.<\/p>\n<p>But the General Secretary of the UCF, Nyaku Afanam in a press statement said the UCF \u201cfeels the posturing of the Governing Board of the NSS is rather hypocritical\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe call for nothing short of they, dishonourably resigning themselves to the board\u2019s membership. If they do not, then the President should take every legal weapon at his disposal to get them out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Apart from the scandal that hit the Secretariat, the Commissioner for the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice(CHRAG) has been accused of spending<span style=\"color: #666699;\">\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/09\/16\/chraj-boss-accused-of-wasting-180000-on-rent\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\">20,000 dollars on rent alone.<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Her expenditure on her rent has raised concerns over the increasing spate of corruption in the country.<\/p>\n<p>According to the UCF\u00a0 \u201cthe recent developments within the public sector administration of this country has left the United Cadres\u2019 Front (UCF) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), in no doubt that the country has \u2018progressively\u2019 crawled back to the old and killing habits that led to the 1979 June Four Up-Rising which was immediately followed by the 31<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0December, 1981 revolution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said the \u201cUCF regrets that the drastic measures that was taken to restore sanity to our public sector administration over the rot that manifested at the time \u2013 and which was to a large extent successful, has finally resurfaced and running at a faster pace than expected.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The group says the two major political parties have over the years not done much to fight the canker.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe two major political parties that keep rotating the administration of this country has over the years not done much in fighting the canker.
