{"id":54656,"date":"2014-10-08T17:34:04","date_gmt":"2014-10-08T17:34:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=54656"},"modified":"2014-10-08T17:40:41","modified_gmt":"2014-10-08T17:40:41","slug":"late-bimbila-naa-legitimate-chief-house-of-chiefs-declares","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/10\/late-bimbila-naa-legitimate-chief-house-of-chiefs-declares\/","title":{"rendered":"Late Bimbila Naa declared legitimate chief"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The National House of Chiefs has upheld the judgment from its Northern Regional branch that declared the late Naa Dasana Andani\u00a0Yakubu II, as the legitimate Overlord of Bimbilla.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The decision on who is the rightful Overlord of Bimbilla has been in dispute for years, prompting the claimants to appeal to the National House of Chiefs for adjudication.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This was after several failed attempts to get the Northern Regional House of Chiefs to rule in their favour.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The claimants; the late Naa Salifu Dawuni, appealed against the ruling of the Northern regional House of Chiefs that affirmed Naa Dasana Andani II as the overlord of Bimbila.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;1yVWsrVdulwkbJtuJCRhYlMB0M9lkUiQ&#8221;]Subsequently, <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/06\/26\/bimbila-naa-andani-finally-laid-to-rest\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Naa Dasana Andani\u00a0Yakubu II was murdered<\/span><\/a> <\/strong><\/span>by unknown assailants, while the case was pending at the National House of Chiefs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The murder of the overlord led to some unrest in the area and the developments compelled the Minister of Interior <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/09\/27\/curfew-on-bimbilla-towship-renewed\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\">to impose a 12-hour curfew on the town<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, the Regional House of Chiefs in their ruling on Wednesday declared the late Naa Dasana Andani\u00a0Yakubu II as the rightful heir.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In an interview with <b>Citi News<\/b>, lawyer for the late Overlords family, Alhassan Mohammed, said he expects the ruling to bring finality to the chieftaincy dispute in the town because it has dragged for too long.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said: \u201cEssentially, what happened in court today is that the panel dismissed the appeal filed by the appellants against the judgment of the Northern Regional House of chiefs declaring that Naa Andane Dasana was the lawfully nominated and enskined Bimbilla Naa.
