Two teenagers are in police custody for allegedly breaking into a house at Ofankor in Accra to steal two flat-screen television sets.<\/p>\n
The names of the suspects, who are aged 15 and 16, are being withheld.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The suspects, said to be scrap dealers, were believed to have broken into the house through a garage to access the victim\u2019s room when he was not present.<\/p>\n
Briefing the\u00a0Daily Graphic<\/strong>, the Achimota Mile 7 District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Peter Ayembilla, said on Wednesday, October 1, at about 1:20p.m., the suspects broke into the house when the occupants were not home.<\/p>\n Suspicions<\/strong><\/p>\n He said a neighbour who saw the suspects carrying the items wrapped in a bedsheet suspected that they were stolen and questioned them.<\/p>\n Mr Ayembilla said the suspects told the neighbour that the items were scraps they had collected and were sending to Agbobgloshie to sell.<\/p>\n The neighbour doubted their claim and asked them to open it and the two television sets were found.<\/p>\n Upon interrogation, he said they confessed that they broke into the house through the garage and took the items.<\/p>\n Mr Ayembilla said the suspects would soon be put before the juvenile court.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/p>\n
