They are: Fiifi Asubonteng, the Director of IT, Alhassan Iddrisu, the Director, PPME, Gloria Aku Mensah, the Ag. Internal Auditor<\/p>\n<p>The Greater Accra Regional Director, Seth Asiedu, and all other officers of the Scheme whose names have so far been cited in the on-going investigations are to step aside.<\/p>\n<p>A statement issued by the governing board of the Secretariat said the decision was taken on Friday at an emergency board meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The indicted persons have been ordered to step aside following\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/10\/03\/rot-at-nss-director-tried-to-influence-case-with-gh%C2%A2100000\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\">their involvement in the payment of GH\u00a27.9 million<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0to 22,612 non-existent national service persons\u00a0in more than 100 districts in July 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The NSS boss is also said to have paid\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/10\/03\/rot-at-nss-director-tried-to-influence-case-with-gh%C2%A2100000\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\">large sums of money to investigators<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0in a bid to induce them to stop their attempt to uncover the rot.<\/p>\n<p>The statement signed by the NSS board chair, Mrs Gifty Mahama Biyira stated that the Governing Board has temporary taken over management of the Scheme until further notice.<\/p>\n<p>It said these actions were informed by the board\u2019s \u201cstrong desire and determination to pave way for the on-going investigations into the operations of the Scheme and to ensure that all persons who may be found culpable are appropriately sanctioned according to law.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Board assured the general public that since its inauguration on 9th December, 2013, \u201cit has, and will continue, to pursue the path of public accountability and elimination of all corrupt practices in the operations of the Scheme.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\n<dl id=\"attachment_28411\">\n<dt><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Ablakwah-citifmonline.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Ablakwah-citifmonline.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/dt>\n<dd>Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n<p>Deputy Education Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, disclosed that government will take a decision on the director who was still at post when the story broke by the close of Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will consider what the facts are\u00a0and what national security\u00a0has in its possession and whether the continuous stay of the Director will tenable at the national service scheme.
