{"id":52633,"date":"2014-10-01T10:46:25","date_gmt":"2014-10-01T10:46:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=52633"},"modified":"2014-10-01T10:46:25","modified_gmt":"2014-10-01T10:46:25","slug":"teacher-jailed-for-defiling-girl-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/10\/teacher-jailed-for-defiling-girl-5\/","title":{"rendered":"Teacher jailed for defiling girl, 5"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Nana Yaw Adu-Larbi, a teacher, has been sentenced to 17 years imprisonment by an Accra Circuit Court for defiling a five- year old girl at Gbawe, a suburb of Accra.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">The court presided over by Ms Sedina Agbemava after the trial found him guilty and convicted him accordingly even though Adu-Larbi, 24, had pleaded not guilty..<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Prosecuting Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sarah Acquah told the court that the complainant, 46 is the father of the victim.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;41lOKb7R6NG4E8Jgns6JIqpeSoPFfG2d&#8221;]ASP Acquah said the convict is a teacher in the victim\u2019s school. On January 14, at about 1500 hours the victim, a kindergarten two pupil after closing from school, waited for the school vehicle to take her home when suddenly, she felt like urinating.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecution said the victim therefore went to the urinal at the nursery section of the school, and when the victim entered the washroom, Adu-Larbi followed up and had sex with her.<\/p>\n<p>ASP Acquah said the convict warned the victim not to disclose her ordeal to anyone.<\/p>\n<p>The victim, however, started bleeding and her pant was soaked with blood.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor said at about 1700 hours same day, the victim met her mother\u2019s friend known as Akua who was washing her clothes and she pleaded with her to remove her pant because she was feeling uncomfortable.<\/p>\n<p>ASP Acquah said to Akua\u2019s surprise the victim\u2019s pants was soaked with blood. Akua informed the victim\u2019s mother who sent her to Lapaz Community Hospital where the doctor after examining her, pointed out that she has been defiled.<\/p>\n<p>During interrogation, prosecution said the victim mentioned Adu-Larbi as the culprit.<\/p>\n<p>The medical doctor therefore referred the victim to the Police Hospital where she underwent further treatment and later discharged.<\/p>\n<p>ASP Acquah said a complaint was lodged with the Domestic Violence and Victim\u2019s Support Unit of Ghana Police Service at Odorkor and Adu-Larbi was arrested.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Source: GNA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nana Yaw Adu-Larbi, a teacher, has been sentenced to 17 years imprisonment by an Accra Circuit Court for defiling a five- year old girl at Gbawe, a suburb of Accra.
