A Political Scientist says the financial bailout from the International Monetary Fund may have come \u00a0\u201ctoo late\u201d to salvage the country\u2019s ailing economy.<\/p>\n
According to Dr. Richard Amoako Baah, the \u00a0Head of the Political Science Department at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), the country\u2019s economic problems had spun out of the government\u2019s control.<\/p>\n
\u201cRight now it\u2019s out of our hands, there\u2019s not much we can do. But I don\u2019t think the politicians realize that. It\u2019s not a matter of talking or a matter of wiling.\u201d<\/p>\n
Dr. Amoako Baah told Citi News<\/b> \u00a0that the country needed \u201coutside help\u201d but added that even the IMF bailout might not be enough to turn the country\u2019s economic fortunes around.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve done too much damage to it [the economy] already. We need outside help. The president\u00a0 has finally agreed to go to the IMF. But maybe he did it too late and t\u2019s getting worse.\u201d<\/p>\n
