Government is building about 20 new classroom blocks in the West Gonja District.<\/p>\n
This is part of efforts to expand educational infrastructure in deprived communities in the district.<\/p>\n
Some of the projects have been completed and are due for handing over to the beneficiary communities.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”Bel4FS0Dgh9YWCbriPsb2asbZvnn4Za9″]Among the beneficiary communities are Kabanpe, Busunu, Lagantiri, Mognori, Gurupe, Achubunyo, Sunpiini, Kadelpo, Kojo Kura and Damongo Township.<\/p>\n
The projects are funded by the West Gonja District Assembly, the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) and non-governmental-organizations.<\/p>\n
District Chief Executive for West Gonja, Ali Bakari Kassim said education will remain one of his administration\u2019s topmost priority.<\/p>\n
<\/a><\/p>\n He thereby implored the district education directorate to step up its monitoring and supervision of teachers working in the district.<\/p>\n In a related development, the West Gonja District Assembly disciplined a local contractor for attempting to execute shoddy work at Ndewura Jakpa Senior High School in Damongo.<\/p>\n
