\"1939604_756281137716378_1122646289_n\"<\/a>The President, John Mahama has served notice that Ghana cannot \u201ccontinue to spend almost $2 billion each year to import food.\u201d<\/p>\n

A post on his Facebook page on Monday stated that his government \u201cwill help farmers all over the country to form associations to increase their production.\u201d<\/p>\n

The post added that an association of about 35,000 farmers and fishermen which was formed in the Kworli Area was \u201ca true example for the way local producers should associate in order to benefit from the government’s support.\u201d<\/p>\n

The President during 57 Independence Day message asked Ghanaians to see every day as \u2018Made in Ghana Day\u2019 and once again called upon Ghanaians \u201cto buy \u2018Made in Ghana\u2019 goods so we can reduce imports and achieve food security.\u201d<\/p>\n
