The Chairperson of the Convention People\u2019s Party (CPP) Samia Nkrumah has announced her willingness to step down to ensure merger talks between the CPP and the People\u2019s National Convention (PNC) become a reality.<\/p>\n
According to her, this will send the right signals to the rank and file of both parties that she is ready to bring both parties together.<\/p>\n
Previous attempts to merge the CPP and the PNC<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong> have proved futile.<\/p>\n Similar talks in the past were suspended due to the timing and other unresolved issues within the respective parties.<\/p>\n The chair persons and general secretaries of the CPP and the PNC \u00a0were co-opted<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>to be part of the unity committee of the two parties to speed up the processes leading to the unification of the parties.<\/p>\n
