{"id":50779,"date":"2014-09-24T17:35:15","date_gmt":"2014-09-24T17:35:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=50779"},"modified":"2014-09-24T17:35:15","modified_gmt":"2014-09-24T17:35:15","slug":"make-a-difference-in-the-world-gtuc-students-charged","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/09\/make-a-difference-in-the-world-gtuc-students-charged\/","title":{"rendered":"Make a difference in the world \u2013 GTUC students charged"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Newly admitted students of the Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) have been challenged to put knowledge they would acquire in school to help change the face of poverty and despair in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe expectation is that you will use what you learn here to make a difference in the lives of the people of this country and beyond, to help people of this country become prosperous and healthy\u201d, Dr Robert Awuah Baffour, Vice President of GTUC told the 722 new students.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Awuah Baffuor was speaking at the 15th\u00a0Matriculation ceremony for newly admitted students pursuing various undergraduate programmes at the GTUC for 2014\/2015 academic year.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, major economies around the world have been transformed significantly largely \u201cdue to education\u201d, and therefore urged the students to take advantage of their opportunity to access tertiary education \u201cand use it to build capacity and serve as agents of change in the society\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe future of our continent depends on our willingness to harness the information and communication technologies to advance our development.
