The Chief Executive of the Techiman North District Assembly in the Brong Ahafo Region, Anthony Kwaku Manu has disclosed that all streets captured in the street naming project in the district\u2019s capital will be tarred.<\/p>\n
President John Dramani Mahama directed the Metropolitan,\u00a0Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to carry out the street naming exercise within a period of 18 months.<\/p>\n
The ultimatum however ends on September 28, 2014.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”PAJVEfT8KeLakm5canWwxkProYHdZEMj”]<\/b>He said the initiative will give the district capital the needed face-lift\u00a0and make it the preferred destination for investors who visit the town.<\/p>\n
The DCE gave the assurance when he toured some parts of the district after he was accused by some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for neglecting his duties and making the party unpopular in the district.<\/p>\n
Citi News<\/b> Brong Ahafo Regional Correspondent, Kwadwo Brefo reported that the DCE was also accused for not developing the district in all of its sectors including, road, electricity, sanitation, education, among others.<\/p>\n
But speaking to the media after the tour the DCE, said tarring of the streets would support the transportation network in the district.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat will be one of our major initiatives. For all the streets, we have identified, we hope to open them and eventually have them tarred. That is our final initiative at least for a district capital.\u201d<\/p>\n
