Airtel Touching Lives 3 is making giant strides. Airtel is supporting exceptional individuals in their bid to make the lives of others better.

One such person is Wiamoase-based teacher, Omega. Omega’s story is that of sacrifice and exceptional benevolence.

Omega, real name Elvis Cletus Afrifa, is a physically challenge teacher who supports over ninety (90) school children through various levels of education.

Omega lost his mother at a very young age. With the help of the Catholic Church, he managed to get educated. To help pay his school fees, he worked as a shoe shine boy in Accra to make extra money.

[contextly_sidebar id=”cnQHiq24lRRd2NphvVVbNDAmtz5VZY3U”]According to Desmond Boakye Amoako, Omega’s nominator, he heard the story of Omega on radio and sought to find out who that exceptional young man was. He found out that Omega had adopted orphans and the less fortunate and was sponsoring their education.

Explaining what he does, Omega said “now I’m supporting students at all levels. If I say at all levels, what I mean is from class one to the university level. In all, I have about 98 students now and I’m staying with one in my house.”

Omega’s exceptional act has made him a role model in the area. To fund his philanthropic acts, he got a loan to buy a vehicle that works as a taxi to raise more funds.

Even though he aspires to support more children, he’s unable to due to financial constraints. According to him, he has not registered a Non Governmental Organization because he feels it’s better to use the registration fees and other costs to sponsor more children.

“I need help to register what I do so that it becomes an NGO. I want help to raise funds because I provide them with uniforms, bags, school and sometimes it goes beyond their educational needs,” he said.

Desmond Boakye Amoako, the nominator says he believes that Omega can do more if he gets help.
