{"id":50556,"date":"2014-09-24T16:47:39","date_gmt":"2014-09-24T16:47:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=50556"},"modified":"2014-09-24T16:47:39","modified_gmt":"2014-09-24T16:47:39","slug":"ppi-hits-48-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/09\/ppi-hits-48-3\/","title":{"rendered":"PPI hits 48.3%"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Producer Price Inflation (PPI) for the month of August hit a record high of 48.3%, the highest rate ever recorded in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>The producer price inflation rate measures the average change over time in the prices received by domestic producers for their production of goods and services.<\/p>\n<p>The August rate of 48.3% increased from a rate of 47.2percent recorded in the month of July, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The monthly inflation rate was however at 1.7percent indicating a decline from 10 percent recorded in July.<\/p>\n<p>A challenging business environment continued to shoot up prices of manufacturing companies.<\/p>\n<p>The sector\u2019s inflation rate increased from 40.3 percent to 41.9percent.<\/p>\n<p>The utilities group\u2019s inflation declined from 76.8percent to 75.8percent.<\/p>\n<p>Mining and quarrying sector recorded an inflation rate of 50.7%.<\/p>\n<p>In this group, refined petroleum and nuclear fuel recorded the highest inflation rate of 68.6percent.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By:\u00a0 Anim Kwaku Boadu\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Producer Price Inflation (PPI) for the month of August hit a record high of 48.3%, the highest rate ever recorded in Ghana.
