{"id":50293,"date":"2014-09-23T11:12:52","date_gmt":"2014-09-23T11:12:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=50293"},"modified":"2014-09-23T11:16:42","modified_gmt":"2014-09-23T11:16:42","slug":"npp-congress-court-adjourns-injunction-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/09\/npp-congress-court-adjourns-injunction-case\/","title":{"rendered":"NPP congress: Court adjourns injunction case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An Accra Fast Track High Court has adjourned an application seeking an interlocutory injunction on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) congress on October 18.<\/p>\n<p>The Congress will give the party an opportunity to elect its flagbearer to lead the party in the 2016\u00a0 general elections but two members of the party; Rexford Agyei Frimpong and Oppong \u00a0Kyekyeku are seeking an order against the National Council to comply with the provision of the NPP constitution and fix a new date for the\u00a0congress.<\/p>\n<p>Counsel for the two, pleaded for more time to study the NPP&#8217;s response to their application.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;OJ16E7QNWpvGpEAH3FUceBdF3yLioeSn&#8221;]The court application follows calls from flagbearer aspirants Alan Kyerematen and Addai Nimoh that the party&#8217;s leadership to reconsider the date for the congress.<\/p>\n<p>The two said that the October 18 date\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/09\/16\/we-cant-campaign-in-48-days-alan-nimoh\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>will not give them ample time to reach the over 140,000 delegates<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to the calls by the two flagbearer aspirants, \u00a0Nana Akufo-Addo\u2019s camp said that they don\u2019t agree with the arguments from the two candidates because according to them, the situation is like a \u201c90 minutes football game, we all have the same time to compete and win.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alan Kyeremanten has begun his campaign tour in the Northern Region despite the court case filed by the two party members.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Marian Efe Ansah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An Accra Fast Track High Court has adjourned an application seeking an interlocutory injunction on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) congress on October 18.
