President John Mahama has held discussions with the Chief Executive of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), Dana Hyde in New York.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0Monday\u00a0morning meeting, which was also attended by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hanna S. Tetteh (MP), is a follow-up to the signing of the new Ghana Compact in August.<\/p>\n
The MCC is investing $498.2 million to transform Ghana’s power sector and also stimulate private investment.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”MHRaXPDvnOJBcDGNe8fKOARgblMmP8Lx”]At the end of the five-year Ghana Power Compact, Ghana is expected to have a financially viable power sector to meet current and future energy needs of households and businesses.<\/p>\n
President Mahama who is attending the 69th Session of the United Nations General Assembly will also meet with the US\/Ghana Chamber of Commerce today.<\/p>\n
He will later address an Investment Working Lunch of African Heads of State and Government.<\/p>\n
