{"id":50084,"date":"2014-09-22T16:32:40","date_gmt":"2014-09-22T16:32:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=50084"},"modified":"2014-09-22T16:35:32","modified_gmt":"2014-09-22T16:35:32","slug":"well-only-address-teachers-concerns-if-ges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/09\/well-only-address-teachers-concerns-if-ges\/","title":{"rendered":"We&#8217;ll only address teachers&#8217; concerns if &#8230; &#8211; GES"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ghana Education Service (GES) has said it will not address the issues raised by the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT) until it is given an official notice.<\/p>\n<p>The Coalition at a press conference last week gave their employers a three-week ultimatum to address their grievances or face their wrath.<\/p>\n<p>Some of their grievances include the delay in payment of transfer grants, the non\u2013payment of their second tier pension scheme, among others.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, the acting Director of GES, Charles Aheto Tsegah said the Service has not yet received any official notification from the CCT over their ultimatum.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;HX2DUFAEaZEyKlv6XLrD9vnKK90QMjUi&#8221;]\u201cI don\u2019t know of any ultimatum that they have given.If they have given an ultimatum and they are serving it in the public domain without serving me, they just don\u2019t know that it will be very difficult for me to make a public response\u2026 I need to have a copy of that ultimatum so I know what the situation is\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the GES will only be able to act on the Coalition\u2019s concerns if \u00a0it forwards its grievances to them.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.5em;\">\u201cIf they haven\u2019t informed us then I haven\u2019t seen it and I will do nothing about it for now because I don\u2019t have any information about what they want unless I&#8217;m informed and notified about their specific needs, then I will go ahead and start doing something about it,\u201dhe noted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Marian Efe Ansah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ghana Education Service (GES) has said it will not address the issues raised by the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT) until it is given an official notice.
