{"id":4958,"date":"2014-03-10T10:36:14","date_gmt":"2014-03-10T10:36:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=4958"},"modified":"2014-03-10T11:22:32","modified_gmt":"2014-03-10T11:22:32","slug":"adomi-bridge-to-close-down-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/03\/adomi-bridge-to-close-down-today\/","title":{"rendered":"Adomi Bridge to be closed down today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/adomi.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-4961\" alt=\"adomi\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/adomi.jpg\" width=\"275\" height=\"183\" \/><\/a>The Adomi Bridge at Atimpoku in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region is expected to be closed on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The closure is to make way for major rehabilitation works to begin on the bridge.<\/p>\n<p>The Ghana Highway Authority in that regard has revealed that travellers\u00a0to Ho and other parts of the country through the Eastern corridor would be ferried by a pontoon from Atimpoku to Akrade, where an alternative route has been constructed for\u00a0light duty vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>The ferry services will also enable commuters cross the River.<\/p>\n<p>The development is likely to have an adverse effect on economic activity\u00a0as thousands of residents from the area as well Akosombo and adjoining towns , trade their wares such as \u201cabolo with one man thousand\u201d fish, roasted snails and shrimps.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Deputy Volta Regional Minister, Francis Komla Ganyaglo has revealed that alternative routes to Accra would also be fixed soon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost of the road networks have been awarded on contract, including Ho, Adidome among others.The other areas from Tsepe to Aboadze are also being considered for work to begin.
