A national youth organiser aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prince Kassim Alubankudi has promised to unite the youth of the ruling party if he gets the nod to head that position.<\/p>\n
Speaking to citifmonline.com, Kassim said he has gone through the mill and has acquired enough experience to rally the youth \u2013 who form the core base of the party \u2013 to win power come the 2016 general elections.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have had years of political experience with different people of the party,\u201d he said. \u201cMy priority is to work with the NDC youth and to work in support of the President\u2019s hard work. The job of running the country is not easy and you have to have the machinery to support you. We are a grassroots party and I believe I can bring in new strategies for a bright future for the party.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kassim, who has been instrumental in strengthening the support base of the party in the UK, said he has decided to come out now to contest for a national position because he has done a lot \u201cbehind the scenes\u201d to merit it.<\/p>\n
\u201cPolitics is not just about talking but action. I was at the forefront of the media work of the NDC in the UK and even here in Ghana I speak on behalf of the party. My politics is not about being seen; I\u2019m not interested in fame but interested in doing the job. My work speaks for me. I\u2019m not into a popularity contest,\u201d Kassim added.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m someone who can engage more and have excellent organisational skills. I\u2019ll constantly carry the youth with me and will always seek their opinion and carry them on to national levels. In this case we are talking about job creation and entrepreneurial skills among others.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m going to bridge the gap between the youth and the elders of the party. There should be a conscious effort on the part of the new youth organiser to bridge the gap between the younger and older generation.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m going to engage with everyone. There is going to be information sharing, opportunity sharing and a new method of doing things. Everyone must benefit from whatever opportunity that comes up. There is not going to be any discrimination. They will see me working on the ground till the next election,\u201d Kassim said about his plans.<\/p>\n
Kassim is an international business consultant with nearly 10 years professional experience. He is an economist and foreign direct investment expert. He is currently the Country Representative and Consultant for SANTERRE Limited, the international infrastructure development company.<\/p>\n
Kassim is also a project consultant to ACEC Investments Limited, an Indian investment group involved in construction, real estates and the health care industries in Ghana, Singapore and India.<\/p>\n
In politics, Kassim has had a very remarkable political experience gained over several years. As a result of his dedicated service to the NDC even when the party was in opposition, he was elected Secretary of the NDC UK and Ireland Chapter in 2009 shortly after the NDC won the 2008 election, a position he held for four years.<\/p>\n
Before that, he served as the co-opted Co-Ordinator of the NDC party Youth in the UK and Ireland while the party was still in opposition between 2005 and 2007, where he was responsible for the formation of the NDC UK and Ireland Chapter Youth Wing.<\/p>\n
Kassim holds a Bachelors Degree in Business with a concentration in Economics, and is a candidate for the Master of Science degree in Business and Management at the University of Essex in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n
