Reports from Nigeria says the labour unrest in that country is likely to drag, and this means Ghana will “stay in darkness” for a longer period.<\/p>\n
Workers of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) are on strike over their pensions, hence their decision to lay down their tools.<\/p>\n
This means gas supply to Ghana through the West African Gas Pipeline has been halted.<\/p>\n
As a result, Ghana may not get gas for power generation any time soon and this means that the load shedding exercise by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) will worsen.<\/p>\n

He said that \u201cthe strike has actually worsened because other subsidiaries of of NNPC have also joined\u2026.All the workers of the four refineries that we have too have all joined.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSo it\u2019s a total strike right now and oil and gas supply are being halted as we speak in Nigeria,\u201d he lamented.<\/p>\n
\u201cif government should allow this strike to go on its not going to go well with the government and we have elections to go to so I\u2019m hoping that they are going to put an end to it early next week,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
