Horace Ankrah<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>, who chaired the Grounds, Events and Logistics Sub-committee, told the Commission that the amounts agreed with caterers to cook food for Black Stars supporters was GHC 34, but the amounts captured in official documents was 35\u00a0 dollars.<\/p>\nThis, coupled with other revelations have incurred the wrath of many Ghanaians who are advocating for persons found culpable of causing financial loss to the state to be prosecuted.<\/p>\n
Speaking on\u00a0Eyewitness News<\/b> on Thursday, Nunoo-Mensah complained that various developmental projects have been abandoned due to lack of resources, yet millions of Ghana cedis was spent on the World Cup Tournament.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cThere are many GETFund projects that have been abandoned because there is no money to pay the contractors. So when I hear these things it really saddens me.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople who don\u2019t have work in Ghana, they don\u2019t even have houses to sleep in, you spend money on them and you fly them all the way to Brazil, pay for them to watch football and feed them whilst the same people don\u2019t have jobs in Accra. They don\u2019t even have public toilets and now cholera is taking over our society,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n
