{"id":48699,"date":"2014-09-18T05:30:47","date_gmt":"2014-09-18T05:30:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=48699"},"modified":"2014-09-18T09:16:54","modified_gmt":"2014-09-18T09:16:54","slug":"ade-cokers-incompetence-hurting-ndc-former-lekma-mce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/09\/ade-cokers-incompetence-hurting-ndc-former-lekma-mce\/","title":{"rendered":"Ade Coker&#8217;s incompetence hurting NDC &#8211; Former LEKMA MCE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A former Municipal Chief Executive of the Ledzokuku Krowor Constituency(LEKMA), Daniel Amartey has accused the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Ade Coker of negligence and incompetence.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mr. Amartey, the series of court injunctions placed on a number of the party\u2019s constituency elections in the Greater Accra region is as a result of Ade Coker\u2019s failure to abide by the laid down rules.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you are leading a political party, you play by the rules governing the game. Parties set out guidelines for election purposes and you are supposed to follow it. You don\u2019t go there to set up yours\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;mHQJiDl6dLU7UxsrGtNupEHjRFKInHSf&#8221;]\u201c You[Ade Coker] write letters of disqualification to people without stating reasons\u2026 and you think people will be happy celebrating it when you disqualify them, when you serve them letters a day to the elections\u00a0 where they will not have an opportunity to seek redress, you expect them to celebrate it?,\u201d he fumed.<\/p>\n<p>An Accra Fast High Court\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><b><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/09\/08\/court-restrains-ndc-two-affiliates-from-holding-constituency-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\">restrained the two constituencies\u00a0 of the party<\/span><\/a><\/b><\/span>: the Ningo Constituency and the Greater Accra Regional Executive Committee, from holding its elections on September 8.<\/p>\n<p>The court injunctions also\u00a0reflect &#8220;the people&#8217;s dissatisfaction against Ade Coker\u2019s performance as chairman,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Out of the about 15 successful constituency elections, thirteen incumbent chairpersons have been &#8216;booted out.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NDC, Ade Coker described the decision some of the court cases unnecessary,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><b><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/09\/08\/suit-on-ningo-prampram-elections-bogus-ade-coker\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\">\u201cfrivolous\u201d and \u201cvexatious.\u201d<\/span><\/a><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_21462\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-21462\" style=\"width: 484px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/10308303_10152254689876107_6103040798123111291_n.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-21462\" alt=\"Ade Coker\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/10308303_10152254689876107_6103040798123111291_n.jpg\" width=\"484\" height=\"367\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/10308303_10152254689876107_6103040798123111291_n.jpg 484w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/10308303_10152254689876107_6103040798123111291_n-300x227.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 484px) 100vw, 484px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-21462\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ade Coker<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In the Ningo Prampram case, four members went to court to seek a declaration that their disqualification by the Vetting Committee was illegal, unlawful and clear violation of Article 42 (1) of the NDC.<\/p>\n<p>The plaintiffs \u00a0also insisted their disqualification was also in breach of the fundamental requirement of natural justice and that they should be given fair hearing.<\/p>\n<p>The members are Michael Kwetey Tetteh, John Doku Nartey, John Mensah and Daniel Tetteh Lartey.<\/p>\n<p>The court recently threw out a similar suit which was brought before the court by an aspiring executive member of the party, Bossman Oduro-Fosu.<\/p>\n<p>The Court however dismissed the case saying it lacked merit,<\/p>\n<p>A human rights court also placed an injunction on elections in Madina, Ayawaso West Wugon and La Dadekotopon constituencies last two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>A member of the party, Bismark Aborbi-Aryitey in the\u00a0Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, dragged the party to court for wrongful disqualification of his bid to become the Youth<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on <strong>Point Blank<\/strong>, Mr. Amartey explained that though some of the aspirants were vetted by Ade Coker, they were not informed of their fate until they were served letters of disqualification a day prior to the elections.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can\u2019t blame any other person than Ade Coker because he is the leader\u2026 when all other regions have finished with their leadership, we are still struggling,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He suggested that the party should abide by the rules laid down by the National Executive Committee(NEC) to forestall further court injunctions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Marian Efe Ansah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A former Municipal Chief Executive of the Ledzokuku Krowor Constituency(LEKMA), Daniel Amartey has accused the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Ade Coker of negligence and incompetence.
