The Co-ordinator of Human Security at the Presidency, Brigadier-General Joseph Nunoo-Mensah has renovated an uncompleted and abandoned girls dormitory at the Gomoa Senior High Technical School in the Central Region.

The female students have been using their classrooms as a dormitory for the past eight months after their dormitory was gutted by fire.

Headmaster of the school, Joseph Denayor explained that the issue had been a source of worry to the school authorities since all efforts to have the dormitory block renovated had proved futile.

Mr Denayor narrated that: “I approached him[Nunoo-Mensah] about the situation and he asked me to see him after which he promised to get the place fixed for the girls. We had about just a week to re-open.”

He said General Nunoo-Mensah kept to his word because “he called his people and promised me that in four days time the place will be habitable.”

The headmaster commended the Brigadier General for coming to their aid.
