A former Mayor of Accra, Nii Adjiri Blankson has asked supporters of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) to treat recent comments by a leading member of the party, Richard Anane as “a bag of rubbish.”<\/p>\n
Dr. Anane at the campaign launch of flagbearer aspirant Alan Kyeremanteng,\u00a0blamed the\u00a0 two-time presidential candidate of the party<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong>, Nana Akufo-Addo for the friction between him and ex-President John Kufuor.<\/p>\n He alleged that Nana Addo and his campaign team in 1998 approached party elders including the late Bernard Da Rocha and the then party chairman, Samuel Odoi-Sykes to ask Kufuor to step down although he had been voted as the NPP’s flagbearer for the 2000 elections.<\/p>\n But speaking on Eye Witness News<\/b> on Monday, Adjiri Blankson questioned the integrity of \u00a0Dr Richard Anane, saying\u00a0\u201che knows what he is saying is a bag of rubbish. He knows it. And why should he even have the guts to implicate me. Is it because I am serving in some important position. Why is this happening to us. Senior members of the party who should know better. You said this at the rally and then you carried it over the weekend and you expect me to keep quite when my name has been brought into disrepute.”<\/p>\n Adjiri Blankson also described the allegation by Dr Anane as callous and diabolical.<\/span><\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”TR1J8rrO2rxGjZUN0yipvQjqq7AghH4y”]\u201cI find such ugly and noisy aberration from Dr. Richard Anane simply as tired, confused and flaccid father who forcibly wants to put his child to sleep by talking Anansesem stories\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cDr. Richard Anane is a matured politician who should know better, particularly with that singular opportunity he had to tell the much needed audience at Lapaz of the virtues and programme of his candidate and my good friend Alan but wasted time lying and creating so much embarrassment to his team,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n According to him, “Dr. Anane has lied and should be made to retract his attempts to undermine the Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo success train.”<\/p>\n The former Mayor urged\u00a0Mr. Anane to be circumspect and truthful in his comments on party matters.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n By: Marian Efe Ansah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana
