or alive will be put to rest by the police at a press conference today (Monday).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Castro disappeared mysteriously with a lady friend, Janet Bandu, about three months ago during a jet-ski ride at Aqua Safari, a beach resort at Ada in the Greater Accra Region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Castro\u2019s disappearance on July 6, 2014 has kept the nation wondering about what might have happened to the hip-life artiste and his lady friend.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">While some people believe that Castro is dead, snippets of information gathered from family members and friends of the hip-life musician indicate that all might not be lost after all.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;HETpXVlokfQ0EdYEdx0dO8XAhEtTQmaY&#8221;]After extensive investigations, including a search for the bodies of Castro and his lady friend along the beaches of Ada by Marine Police personnel and local fishermen, no definitive statement has been made on whether they are dead or alive.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Some spiritualists even joined in the search, saying Castro might have gone for spiritual consultation with the marine spirit \u2013 Maame Water.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">But today, the police will put the matter to rest and possibly end speculations about whether the two are dead or otherwise, when they announce to the public the outcome of police investigations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Family and friends\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Since the disappearance of Castro and Bandu, family members of especially the lady have granted a number of media interviews demanding the whereabouts of their relation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Until last week, Castro\u2019s father, Mr John Eshun, had not been heard about his son\u2019s disappearance, but he finally broke his silence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In an interview with a local radio station, Mr Eshun was alleged to have stated that his son was just missing but not dead.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">A popular Ghanaian musician and close friend of Castro, Akoo Nana, was also quoted as saying that his friend was alive.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">He is said to have claimed that the families of the two missing persons wanted speculations to calm down before letting out any information on the whereabouts of Castro.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Asamoah Gyan\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">When news broke of Castro\u2019s disappearance, it was reported that he had visited the beach resort with his friend, the Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan, for recreation with some other friends.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">It was a weekend to forget when Asamoah Gyan and his elder brother, Baffour, cheated death, while Castro and his lady friend were reported to have drowned at an area close to the Volta estuary.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The news of the disappearance of Castro and his friend went viral on social media and was subsequently carried by some electronic and print media.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The Black Stars captain and his brother, who were with their close pal, Castro, Samuel Anim Addo (Asamoah\u2019s business manager) and some female friends, reportedly left Accra for Ada at the weekend where they checked in at Aqua Safari for two days.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Sources said the group later moved to another holiday resort near the Volta estuary where the hip-life artiste and Bandu hired a jet ski and began to cruise.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">While cruising, eyewitnesses narrated, Castro\u2019s lady friend who was behind the musician fell into the water and, in an attempt to rescue her, both of them allegedly got drowned.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Castro, a childhood friend of the Stars captain, was very instrumental in shaping the burgeoning music career of the football star. The celebrity duo are credited with award-winning tracks \u201cAfrican Girls\u201d, in which the Al Ain striker rapped, and \u201cOdo Pa\u201d, which won the Highlife Song of the Year at the 2014 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Aftermath of disappearance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Since the incident, some \u00a0individuals and groups have attempted to link Asamoah Gyan to Castro\u2019s death and have often asked the Black Stars captain to produce the musician.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">About two weeks ago, some soccer fans in Kumasi chanted slogans demanding that Asamoah Gyan produce Castro when the national team went to the Kumasi Sports Stadium to train in preparation for their match against Uganda.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">At a press conference organised by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to explain matters concerning Ghana\u2019s participation in the World Cup in Brazil, a journalist of the Daily Graphic, Mr Daniel Kenu, sought to ask Asamoah Gyan to comment on Castro\u2019s disappearance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">However, the question, perceived to be unpalatable by officials of the GFA, incurred the displeasure of some friends, agents and relations of the Black Stars captain.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">At the Kumasi Sports Stadium, the elder brother of Asamoah Gyan, Baffour Gyan, and some macho men associated with the national skipper allegedly assaulted Mr Kenu.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The matter is currently before the Kumasi Circuit Court.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Another school of thought has demanded that the police arrest Asamoah Gyan to establish his involvement or otherwise in the disappearance of Castro and his girlfriend.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">A lawyer, Dr Maurice Ampaw, has called on the police to arrest Asamoah Gyan and question him about the disappearance of the two persons.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Whether Asamoah Gyan is associated with Castro\u2019s disappearance or whether Castro is alive will be the focus of the press conference that will be organised by the police today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Source: Graphic.com.gh<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Whether hip-life artiste Theophilus Tagoe, popularly known as Castro, is dead or alive will be put to rest by the police at a press conference today (Monday).
