The Ho Municipal Assembly is yet to receive any District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) allocation for the 2014 financial year, Mrs Fafa Adinyira, Municipal Chief Executive of the Assembly, said on Friday.<\/p>\n
She said the Assembly received GHC92,371.69 and GHC156,375.67 in 2014 as the allocation for the third and fourth quarters of 2013 respectively.<\/p>\n
Mrs Adinyira was addressing the second ordinary General Assembly Meeting of the Fourth Session of the Sixth Assembly in Ho.<\/p>\n
She said the delay in release of the money was affecting the execution of projects earmarked for the year.<\/p>\n
\nGNA investigations revealed that the Assembly was unable to start, continue or complete projects in the areas of education, health and sanitation earmarked for 2014.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”vUSjLvV5tolzOmxH7KDYa4ZLzeawkZVQ”]Mrs Adinyira said GHC 42,303.37, being the third and fourth quarters allocation of the Member of Parliament\u2019s Common Fund, supported the execution of various projects including financial assistance to needy students, communities and groups in the Municipal area.<\/p>\n
She said in view of the challenges, the Assembly had decided to shift from relying on the DACF to its internally generated funds.<\/p>\n
Mrs Adinyira said consequently, the Assembly had outsourced the collection of market and daily tolls to a private company.<\/p>\n
She said property rate and building permit collection and the collection of outdoor advertising fee had also been outsourced.<\/p>\n
Mrs Adinyira said the Assembly would soon procure streetlights, renovate some classroom blocks, and construct two Community-based Health Planning and Service (CHPS) compounds and an Early Childhood School.<\/p>\n
She said the Assembly would pay more attention to the renovation of existing classroom blocks next year and called for the support of assembly members.<\/p>\n
Mrs Adinyira appealed to the assembly members to help address issues of smuggling along borders in the Municipal area and also help maintain good sanitation in their areas.<\/p>\n
She urged them to educate people in their communities on cholera and Ebola diseases, saying the Assembly would institute a monthly clean-up exercise soon.
