Corporate institutions in Ghana must show more commitment in efforts to\u00a0<\/span>combat climate change,\u00a0<\/em>according to the Managing Director (MD) of CAL Bank, Mr. Frank Adu Jnr.<\/p>\n CAL Bank, as part of its corporate policy of being environmentally conscious, embarked on a tree planting exercise on Saturday,September 6\u00a0in all its areas of operation; Accra, Tema, Kumasi, Takoradi and Tarkwa.<\/p>\n The Bank planted over 6,000 trees in its three regions of operation.<\/p>\n The tree species planted were \u201cFicus Species\u201d, \u201cCassia Siamia Species\u201d, \u201cMahogany\u201d and \u201cAcacia Species\u201d which can withstand dry weather conditions and have green foliage.<\/p>\n The exercise was executed in collaboration with the Department of Parks and Gardens.<\/p>\n The trees were planted on the shoulders and the medians of some major roads in the respective municipalities.<\/p>\n The main objectives of this exercise is to contribute to the sustainability of the environment, reduce deforestation, beautify the environment and more importantly, to support the national efforts of urban afforestation.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n By: Rabiu Alhassan\/citifmonline..com\/Ghana<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Corporate institutions in Ghana must show more commitment in efforts to\u00a0combat climate change,\u00a0according to the Managing Director (MD) of CAL Bank, Mr. Frank Adu Jnr.
