{"id":44116,"date":"2014-09-02T17:56:01","date_gmt":"2014-09-02T17:56:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=44116"},"modified":"2014-09-02T18:25:24","modified_gmt":"2014-09-02T18:25:24","slug":"ebola-centre-scares-patients-in-tema-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/09\/ebola-centre-scares-patients-in-tema-hospital\/","title":{"rendered":"Tema hospital patients worried over Ebola center"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Residents who patronize the Tema General Hospital are worried over the location of an Ebola Isolation center in the hospital.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The facility which is yet to be completed is near the Tema General Hospital\u2019s morgue.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0Speaking to<strong> Citi News<\/strong>, some of the patients complained about the closeness of the facility to the mortuary saying that &#8220;it is causing fear and panic.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Although Ghana has not reported any case of the deadly Ebola yet, many have raised concerns over the preparedness of the various health facilities to handle any suspected case.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Government says it has subsequently <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/09\/02\/hospitals-receive-ghc100000-each-to-fight-ebola\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>disbursed GHC100,000 to each regional hospital<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/span> to refurbish isolation centres.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Tema General Hospital is one of isolation centres designated to serve the southern sector while the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, will handle cases for the middle belt and the Tamale Teaching Hospital will serve the northern sector.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, <b>Citi Fm&#8217;s<\/b>\u00a0correspondent in Tema, Elvis Washington reported that the isolation center is about 80 percent complete.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe building is built with tarpaulin and supported at the urges with some metallic pillars to give it support. All round the pillars is covered with tarpaulin and with a little bit of tinted glass doors fixed at some places. The facility is about 80 percent complete per my estimation as nobody is ready to talk to me on authority.
