The Ghana Statistical Service\u00a0(GSS) and nine other Ministries,\u00a0Departments and Agencies (MDAs)\u00a0within the National Statistical System\u00a0have received $40 million from government\u00a0and its development partners.<\/p>\n
The funds would support the\u00a0agencies to produce timely statistics\u00a0for the country\u2019s development.<\/p>\n
Dr. Osei Boeh-Ocansey, Chairman\u00a0of the Governing Board of Ghana Statistical\u00a0Service (GSS) made this\u00a0known during the publication of the\u00a0Ghana Living Standards Survey\u00a0Round Six Reports in Accra recently.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is a reality that stakeholders\u00a0cannot demand more from the GSS if\u00a0the needed support in terms of provision\u00a0of resources and capacity development\u00a0is not forthcoming,” he said.<\/p>\n
Dr. Boeh-Ocansey entreated all\u00a0stakeholders within the National Statistical\u00a0System to collaborate with\u00a0GSS and other data production agencies\u00a0to produce up-to-date and timely\u00a0statistics for the general public to use\u00a0in their day-to-day decision-making\u00a0processes to achieve better results.<\/p>\n
He urged management and staff\u00a0of the Service to work hard to produce\u00a0and disseminate a wide range of\u00a0statistics that are relevant to stakeholders\u00a0in Ghana and beyond.<\/p>\n
