{"id":42974,"date":"2014-08-29T13:20:38","date_gmt":"2014-08-29T13:20:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=42974"},"modified":"2014-08-29T13:35:20","modified_gmt":"2014-08-29T13:35:20","slug":"west-akim-residents-worried-over-surge-in-cholera-cases","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/08\/west-akim-residents-worried-over-surge-in-cholera-cases\/","title":{"rendered":"West Akim residents worried over surge in Cholera cases"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Residents in the West Akim Municipality of the Eastern Region have expressed fear and worry over the surge in cholera cases recorded in the Municipality.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">About 30 cases have so far been recorded with one confirmed death since the first case was recorded barely three weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking to <b>Citi News<\/b>, West Akim Municipal Health Director, Abdul Aziz Abdulai said the municipality is likely to record more cases if adequate measures are not put in place.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said the directorate has made a number of arrangements to treat cholera cases.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cCurrently we are housing the cholera victims in an uncompleted maternity block within the hospital.
