{"id":42937,"date":"2014-08-29T11:34:43","date_gmt":"2014-08-29T11:34:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=42937"},"modified":"2014-08-29T18:10:31","modified_gmt":"2014-08-29T18:10:31","slug":"npp-wont-be-cheated-again-nana-addo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/08\/npp-wont-be-cheated-again-nana-addo\/","title":{"rendered":"NPP won&#8217;t be cheated again &#8211; Nana Addo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The New Patriotic Party\u2019s (NPP) \u00a0presidential candidate for the 2012 elections, Nana Akufo-Addo has reiterated his belief that the party was cheated during the 2012 elections.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at an event in Kumasi to mark the first anniversary of the election petition verdict,\u00a0 Nana Addo said \u00a0\u201cit is painful to lose an election, but the pain shouldn&#8217;t be as a result of being cheated during the process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNever again should anybody tamper with results in an election,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The NPP challenged the results of the 2012 presidential\u00a0 elections, claiming that it was rigged in favor of incumbent, President Mahama.<\/p>\n<p>The nine-member panel of judges who presided over the hearing of the election petition, however, declared President Mahama as the legitimately elected president.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing supporters in Kumasi, Nana Addo said the party will approach the next elections with the experience from the August 29, 2013 verdict on the election petition.<\/p>\n<p>He called on Ghanaians to force the Electoral Commission to implement the recommendations of the Supreme Court ahead of the 2016 elections.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGhanaians deserve and demand a reliable electoral system,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Nana Addo also promised to bring the NPP back into power\u00a0 and move Ghana into prosperity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Click on audio to listen to Nana Akufo Addo<\/strong><br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=https%3A\/\/api.soundcloud.com\/tracks\/165319554&amp;auto_play=false&amp;hide_related=false&amp;show_comments=true&amp;show_user=true&amp;show_reposts=false&amp;visual=true\" height=\"450\" width=\"100%\" frameborder=\"no\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Nana Ama Agyemang Asante\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The New Patriotic Party\u2019s (NPP) \u00a0presidential candidate for the 2012 elections, Nana Akufo-Addo has reiterated his belief that the party was cheated during the 2012 elections.
