P. V. Obeng.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Botchwey who is Ghana\u2019s longest serving finance minister was a PNDC Secretary for Finance and became Minister for Finance and Economic Planning following the transition to constitutional rule in 1992.<\/p>\n<p>He is currently the Board Chairman of the Ghana National Gas Company.<\/p>\n<p>The President has also appointed Dr. Nii Moi Thompson as Acting Director-General of the NDPC.<\/p>\n<p>Until his appointment, Dr. Thompson was an Economic Adviser to the President.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Source: Presidency<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President John Mahama has nominated a former Finance Minister, Dr. Kwesi Botchwey, as Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC).
