So this means that\u00a0 all three votes from this foreign branches have declared their support for Nana Addo\u201d,\u00a0 Mustapha Hamid, Spokersperson for Nana Addo revealed.<\/p>\n<p>Delegates of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) will cast their votes at a special congress on Sunday, \u00a0August 31 to prune the number of presidential hopefuls\u00a0 from seven to five.<\/p>\n<p>The seven aspirants vying for 5 slots of the party includes; the 2008 and 2012 presidential candidate of the party , Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, a former minister , Mr Alan Kwadjo Kyerematen, MP for Mampong, \u00a0Mr Francis Addai Nimoh and Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, a former Minister.<\/p>\n<p>All aspirants are currently on tour around the country campaigning.<\/p>\n<p>However, \u00a0in an interview on <b>Citi FM\u2019S point blank<\/b>, Mustapha Hamid\u00a0 was excited about Nana Addo\u2019s chances at the upcoming special congress.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOverall we think it has been a good campaign and we are confident that the outcomes will be good\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the greater Accra regional chairman of the NPP, Ishmael Ashittey has called on the hierarchy of the party to cancel the upcoming special congress should one candidate win 90 percent of the votes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we go to the special delegate election and you say one person is going to get over 90% of the votes, i don\u2019t see\u00a0 the reason why others will like us to continue to go into an election again&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>By: Benjamin Epton Owusu\/citifmonline.com \/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the diaspora have declared their full support for Nana Addo ahead of Sunday\u2019s special congress. \u201cThey voted in the United States 93 percent, 99.5 percent in Germany and 92 percent in the UK.
