{"id":4213,"date":"2014-03-04T21:08:34","date_gmt":"2014-03-04T21:08:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=4213"},"modified":"2014-03-05T21:09:34","modified_gmt":"2014-03-05T21:09:34","slug":"the-pen-of-truth-reality-tv-show-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/03\/the-pen-of-truth-reality-tv-show-launched\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;The pen of truth\u201d reality TV show launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/IMG-20140303-00131.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-4214\" alt=\"IMG-20140303-00131\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/IMG-20140303-00131-300x224.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/IMG-20140303-00131-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/IMG-20140303-00131.jpg 896w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>A former Rector of the Ghana Institute of Journalism Mr KwekuRockson has urged corporate Ghana to support the entrepreneurial development of students in order to make them more useful to society.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that when the entrepreneurial skills of these young graduates are nurtured and honed they will develop strong visionary projects and programmes which will benefit the nation at large.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Rockson made the remarks at the launch of \u201cThe Pen of Truth Competition\u201d in Accra.<\/p>\n<p>The Competition is a Ghanaian educational TV Reality Show in which graduates from tertiary institutions, compete in knowledge, ideas and innovations and a chance to reform their communities.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative, the brain child of Cheetah Communications is a means of engaging and empowering undergraduates, diplomats and graduates for productive enterprises.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Rockson congratulated the organisers for their foresight and desire to find an alternative to graduate unemployment, saying it was an opportunity for graduates from the nation\u2019s universities to make their talents and entrepreneurial capacities available to the market, instead of waiting for jobs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCheetah Communications\u2019 efforts are a laudable initiative that will harness skills and abilities of young men and women onto a workable platform for development instead of the usual cry for jobs from elsewhere. In this initiative, they take their destinies into their hands and move on with their ideas and innovations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr Kojo Boateng, Operations Manager of Cheetah Communications said \u201cPen of Truth takes off officially on March 10, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the competition will provide a platform for critical analysis of the Ghanaian economy from the perspectives of young talented adults, equipped with tertiary education.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026It is to promote, encourage and boost the intellectual development of the leaders of tomorrow through basic research,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Boateng said participants who qualify will be shortlisted and come before a panel of distinguished judges, with the winners getting a one-year bursary, internships with blue-chip companies, GHC50,000 cash prize, access to community development fund.<\/p>\n<p>The entire list of awards will be made known during the Awards Night and a publication of the award winners\u2019 essays.<\/p>\n<p>The entries will be in the form of research writings and will cover the Economy, Health, Medicine, Law, Media and Food and Agriculture in addition to the other area of business, commerce, art and culture.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Margaret Tachie Micah, CEO of Nest of Ideas Consulting expressed delight in the initiative and called for public support.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Cheetah Communications Ltd<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A former Rector of the Ghana Institute of Journalism Mr KwekuRockson has urged corporate Ghana to support the entrepreneurial development of students in order to make them more useful to society.
