{"id":414804,"date":"2018-04-01T12:42:45","date_gmt":"2018-04-01T12:42:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=414804"},"modified":"2018-04-01T13:06:26","modified_gmt":"2018-04-01T13:06:26","slug":"three-illegal-miners-die-galamsey-pit-bekwai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2018\/04\/three-illegal-miners-die-galamsey-pit-bekwai\/","title":{"rendered":"Three illegal miners die in galamsey pit at Bekwai"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three persons have been confirmed dead after a pit they dug to search for gold caved in at Kokotro in the Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti region on Friday 30th March 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The three; Augustine Opoku, 17, Evans Mensah, 20 and Emmanuel Aidoo, 19, are all natives of Subriso in the municipality.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;xOFojFZ3iMuJ7XZVmlWy2QLTdMlRvHLu&#8221;]Chief Executive for the Bekwai Municipal Assembly, Kwaku Kyei Baffour who confirmed the incident to <strong>Citi News<\/strong> said the three young men had dug a pit of about 10 to 20 ft depth to search for the nugget after it rained in the area.<\/p>\n<p>He said the pit is yet to be covered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat happened is enough a warning to whoever wants to go and do same.
