Unilever intends to train about 10 million Ghanaian children to brush their teeth twice daily by 2020.<\/p>\n

The brand seeks to also target one billion people globally to brush their teeth twice daily.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the Commemoration of the 2018 World Oral Health Day, the Managing Director of Unilever Ghana, Yeo Ziobeieton said to this end, Unilever will collaborate with other stakeholders to achieve this goal.<\/p>\n

“While globally we are aiming at touching 1 billion people, in Ghana our ambition is to teach 10 million Ghanaian children to brush twice a day by 2020.<\/p>\n

“At this point, your excellency allow me to use this opportunity to invite other multinationals, other organisations to join Unilever in this cause – because together, we are stronger, together we can achieve more, together we can achieve a Ghana free of tooth decay.”<\/p>\n

To consolidate efforts at promoting oral hygiene, Unilever organised a health walk at Ayi Mensah near Aburi over the weekend.<\/p>\n

Mr.Ziobeieton indicated that the numbers that turned up at the walk gives the assurance that “there is hope for the fight against poor oral health.”<\/p>\n

The Minister of Health,Kwaku Agyeman-Manu who was guest speaker at the event indicated that Unilever Ghana’s brush twice campaign was in tandem with his outfit’s efforts at promoting oral hygiene and preventing oral health diseases.<\/p>\n

“The advice to brush twice daily is something that we cannot do away with if we want to at least keep enjoying our meals for the rest of our lives.”<\/p>\n

While commending the management and staff of Unilever for this initiative, the Minister also urged Ghanaians to join the crusade against tooth decay and other oral health diseases.<\/p>\n
