An old student of Keta Senior High School (KETASCO) Martin Ankrah, has launched an awards scheme aimed at rewarding and encouraging the school\u2019s best students in Mathematics and Economics.<\/p>\n
Mr. Ankrah, a Director at Global Media Alliance launched the awards at the grand durbar to mark the school\u2019s 65th<\/sup> Anniversary and Founders Day celebration on Saturday, March 3, 2018<\/p>\n Presenting the \u201cMartin Ankrah Awards Scheme\u201d to the school\u2019s Headmaster, Mr. Ankrah said \u201can awards scheme such as this creates healthy competition among students and results in better academic performance.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHaving received my share of such prizes in the past, I was encouraged and motivated to always perform better. I made it a point to study extra hard to ensure my name comes up during the school\u2019s speech and prize giving day, and it always did, including winning the Government of Ghana Scholarship for being the best student in my department,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n According to Mr Ankrah, this is \u201cmy way of giving back to my alma mater and also to motivate the current students to strive for academic excellence\u201d.<\/p>\n This gesture is also in line with Global Media Alliance\u2019s work culture which encourages management and staff to make a difference in the lives of others by giving back to society in various forms, he added.<\/p>\n Commenting on the establishment of the Martin Ankrah Awards, the Headmaster of the School, Mr. F.C.K. Agbakey, commended Martin for the initiative and called on other alumni to follow suit.<\/p>\n The Headmaster urged his students to emulate Martin as he took his studies very seriously during his time at school.
