Workers of the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra on Thursday morning staged a demonstration to protest against what they describe as poor working conditions and the non-payment of salaries.<\/span><\/p>\n

Citi FM\u2019s<\/strong> Rabiu Alhassan who was at the Hotel said \u201cthe place was quite filled with about three hundred workers of the hotel who were protesting the non-payment of their salaries. They were demanding for salary increases and improved working conditions.\u201d<\/p>\n

He stated that the workers revealed that employees and management were expected to negotiate for salary increases two years ago, but \u201cthat did not happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rabiu also stated that management of the hotel had failed to respond to concerns raised by employees, adding that they returned to work after they [management] secured a deal with the workers.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Citi<\/strong> News<\/b>, an employee of the hotel, Mustapha Quansah said the demonstration had become necessary since management had failed to heed to their concerns.<\/p>\n

\u201d For sometime now we have been having problems with management regarding how the hotel is gradually declining\u2026,\u201dhe said<\/p>\n
