Kuami Eugene has faced some criticism over the past few days for \u2018stealing\u2019 Malian artiste Sidiki Diabat\u00e9\u2019s song \u2018Fais Moi Confiance\u2019 for his latest single, \u2018Confusion.\u2019<\/p>\n
Sidiki\u2019s song, which was released in 2015 and Kuami Eugene\u2019s \u2018Confusion\u2019, were both sang in the same key (B Flat Major), they have the same chordal progressions \u2013 and there are some traces of Sidiki\u2019s melodies in the chorus of Kuami Eugene\u2019s \u2018Confusion.\u2019<\/p>\n
Speaking to Abeiku Santana on Okay FM, Kwami Eugene said he took an inspiration from 3 musicians to compose his \u2018Confusion.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cI picked some elements from Kojo Antwi\u2019s \u2018Dadie Anoma,\u2019 and Daddy Lumba and also took inspiration from Sidiki Diabat\u00e9\u2019s \u2018Fais moi Confiance.\u2019 I didn\u2019t steal the song, I only took an inspiration from them and I even credited all of them in the song,\u201d the Angela hitmaker stated.<\/p>\n
Kwami further noted that what makes a good artiste is the ability to research to serve their fans a variety of music.<\/p>\n
He said he decided to pick bits and pieces of elements from Kojo Antwi, Daddy Lumba and the Malian artiste to give the song a Malian and Ghanaian touch.<\/p>\n
According to the former MTN Hitmaker contestant what matters most is the fact that the song is Highlife.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the end of the day, the song is a highlife and that is why I credited them by writing \u2018highlife music to the world\u2019,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Kuami Eugene is a singer, composer and music producer known for songs such as \u2018Hribaba,\u2019 \u2018Boom Bang Bang,\u2019 \u2018Fadama Boy,\u2019 \u2018Ebeyeyie\u2019 and \u2018Angela.\u2019<\/p>\n
