{"id":395171,"date":"2018-01-25T16:48:10","date_gmt":"2018-01-25T16:48:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=395171"},"modified":"2018-01-25T17:55:28","modified_gmt":"2018-01-25T17:55:28","slug":"two-fugitives-3-accomplices-arrested-over-kwabenya-jailbreak","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2018\/01\/two-fugitives-3-accomplices-arrested-over-kwabenya-jailbreak\/","title":{"rendered":"Two fugitives, 3 accomplices arrested over Kwabenya jailbreak"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Inspector General of Police (IGP), David Asante-Apeatu has disclosed that two of the seven suspects who escaped from the Kwabenya Police station last Sunday, after armed assailants broke into the station and released them,\u00a0have been rearrested.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the media on Thursday, the IGP said the two were arrested at Worawora in the Volta Region.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;z4mOCwEruU2eildqH4qiJhFEnCOqNagr&#8221;]He also added that three persons who aided the escape of the fugitives,\u00a0including a 28-year-old woman, have also been arrested.<\/p>\n<p>The attack on the police station resulted in the <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2018\/01\/21\/robbers-kill-policeman-at-kwabenya-police-station-free-cell-inmates\/\">death of a police officer<\/a><\/strong><\/span> who was shot by the assailants<\/p>\n<p>The police subsequently <a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2018\/01\/21\/7-kwabenya-police-station-escapees-named-photos\/\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>released the photos<\/strong><\/span><\/a> of the seven fugitives and announced a GHc15,000 bounty for any information leading to their arrest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have since arrested two of the fugitives on Tuesday 23<sup>rd<\/sup> January at Worawora in the Volta Region. They are Atta Kwadwo and Prince Osei. Also, two accomplices who aided the escape of the fugitives were arrested in Accra on Monday 22<sup>nd<\/sup> January 2018 and yesterday 24<sup>th<\/sup> January 2018,\u201d the IGP said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_395205\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-395205\" style=\"width: 620px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-395205 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Jailbreakers-1024x603.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"365\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Jailbreakers-1024x603.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Jailbreakers-300x177.jpg 300w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Jailbreakers-768x452.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-395205\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Attah Kwadwo and Prince Osei were arrested at Worawora<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>He noted that the accomplices who were detained \u201cinclude a 28-year old woman named Nancy Bentah alias Awura Ama.
