{"id":393596,"date":"2018-01-21T17:22:45","date_gmt":"2018-01-21T17:22:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=393596"},"modified":"2018-01-21T17:44:34","modified_gmt":"2018-01-21T17:44:34","slug":"fire-razes-homes-dzorwulu-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2018\/01\/fire-razes-homes-dzorwulu-photos\/","title":{"rendered":"Fire razes homes at Dzorwulu [Photos]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>About six houses at Dzorwulu junction were, this afternoon, razed to the ground by fire.<\/p>\n<p>The about 20 occupants of these homes could not retrieve a single item from the debris after the blaze was doused by the Abelemkpe Fire Department.<\/p>\n<p>The Fire Officer in charge at the scene, Isaac Amoah, told <strong>Citi News <\/strong>that\u00a0the cause of the fire is yet to be definitively ascertained but early indications suggest it may have been caused by the activities of residents in the area who \u201chave turned this place into a cooking joint.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-393655\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Dzorwulu6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"667\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Dzorwulu6.jpg 667w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Dzorwulu6-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 667px) 100vw, 667px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to residents, their attention was drawn to the inferno by a little boy who had gone into one of the rooms to fetch his mother, only to find the room ablaze.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-393653\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Dzorwulu4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"667\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Dzorwulu4.jpg 667w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Dzorwulu4-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 667px) 100vw, 667px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Many of the affected residents are food vendors who ply their trade a few meters from their places of abode.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-393654\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Dzorwulu5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"667\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Dzorwulu5.jpg 667w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Dzorwulu5-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 667px) 100vw, 667px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Speaking to<strong> Citi News<\/strong>, one of the affected persons said: \u201cI have lost everything; my belongings and monies belonging to people &#8211; about a thousand Ghana cedis. The only things I have left are the clothes I\u2019m wearing now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another said: \u201cI went to fetch water from a nearby borehole only to return to this disaster. Everything went with the fire; my clothes, groceries and my money.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-393649\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Dzorwulu.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"667\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Dzorwulu.jpg 667w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Dzorwulu-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 667px) 100vw, 667px\" \/><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Disregard for data &#8211; Analysis by Citi News&#8217; Marie-Franz<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was worrisome to discover that firefighters were reluctant to provide me with information until I sighted their record keeping book.
