{"id":391359,"date":"2018-01-14T08:08:34","date_gmt":"2018-01-14T08:08:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=391359"},"modified":"2018-01-14T08:08:34","modified_gmt":"2018-01-14T08:08:34","slug":"ue-npp-chair-thanks-nana-addo-for-amidus-appointment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2018\/01\/ue-npp-chair-thanks-nana-addo-for-amidus-appointment\/","title":{"rendered":"U\/E: NPP Chair thanks Nana Addo for Amidu&#8217;s appointment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Alhaji Mohammed Murtala Ibrahim has thanked President Nana Akufo-Addo, on behalf of the regional secretariat, for naming Martin Amidu as the Special Prosecutor.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the appointment of Martin Amidu indicates the president&#8217;s indubitable detestation for corruption and his unbendable commitment to fighting it.<\/p>\n<p>In a press release copied to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, Alhaji Murtala said the appointment of Martin Amidu has taken Ghanaians by storm and pointed to the overwhelming backing the President has received as a sign of the former Attorney General&#8217;s suitability for the position.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-390763\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Amidu-chosen-as-special-prosecutor-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Amidu-chosen-as-special-prosecutor-3.jpg 600w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Amidu-chosen-as-special-prosecutor-3-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;CHRAJ, Imani-Ghana, Center for Democratic Development (CDD), Ghana Civil society Organizations are heralding the decision of the president of which the people of the Upper East Region are no exception. I knew Mr. Amidu for his stances on truth since his childhood days and wasn&#8217;t surprised when his childhood attributes blossomed and he attained the accolade &#8216;Citizen Vigilante&#8217;.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Mr. Amidu is known to be independent minded, very fierce in his fight against corruption.
