The Ghana Police Service has arrested Chief Inspector Paul Akpabli of Golokwati Police Station in the Volta region for escorting seven bags of a substance suspected to be Indian hemp.<\/p>\n

The Police Officer was arrested together with two others by a team of Police personnel at Sokode-Ando in the region while transporting the narcotic substance in a Hyundai bus with registration number AS 6936-09.<\/p>\n

The \u00a0other two suspects are the driver, Peter Kamasah-23 and the driver’s mate Daniel Ekualiho-26.<\/p>\n

A press statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs, DSP Cephas Arthur noted that “preliminary investigation indicates that Inspector Akpabli took a fee of 400.00 cedis to escort the substance from Kpeve to the owner at Dzodze in the region.”<\/p>\n

“All the three suspects are in Police Custody pending further investigations and disciplinary action,” it added.<\/p>\n

It further noted that it will not shield any Police Officer who misconducts him or himself.<\/p>\n
