{"id":389674,"date":"2018-01-08T14:21:30","date_gmt":"2018-01-08T14:21:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=389674"},"modified":"2018-01-08T15:11:52","modified_gmt":"2018-01-08T15:11:52","slug":"9-arrested-in-bolga-in-connection-with-prampram-robbery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2018\/01\/9-arrested-in-bolga-in-connection-with-prampram-robbery\/","title":{"rendered":"9 arrested in Bolga in connection with Prampram robbery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Prampram Divisional Police Command in the Greater Accra Region, has in collaboration with the Upper East Regional Police Command, arrested nine persons in Bolgatanga in connection with a robbery incident at Prampram.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects include Rufai Umoru, a Nigerian national aged 36; Mutaka Mohammed, aged 29; Stephen Botey, aged 29, Laryea Nevis aged 27.<\/p>\n<p>Mutaka Mohammed\u2019s, wife Adongbire Asampana, aged 24, was also arrested.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to<strong> Citi News<\/strong>, the Upper East Regional Police Commander, DCOP Vincent Redeemer, said the suspects went into hiding after a robbery in Prampram on November 20, 2017.<\/p>\n<p>They were arrested on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Gambligo, a suburb of Bolgatanga, at about 10:00 pm.<\/p>\n<p>Muntaka Mohammed, during police interrogations, confessed that the three Nigerians were his accomplices in the robbery.<\/p>\n<p>He later led police to Kings and Queens hotel at Bukere, a suburb of Bolgatanga, where four members of his gang,\u00a0namely; Israel Edoh, aged 43; Mike Osuji aged 48; Daniel Adosi, aged 52 and Musah Issah were also arrested.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-389691\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Robbery-guns-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"449\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Robbery-guns-2.jpg 600w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Robbery-guns-2-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He added that four handguns were found on the gang leader, Mutaka Mohammed, three Nokia phones, one Samsung Galaxy S7, Samsung Galaxy Duos, Infinix Note, Techno tablet, Techno T349 and an HP Laptop.<\/p>\n<p>All the items, except the guns, were stolen from victims during the\u00a0robbery at Prampram, according to police.<\/p>\n<p>Mutaka Mohammed again told police that his three gangmembers asked him to bring weapons to enable them rob a gold businessman at the Gbani mining site in the Talensi District of the Upper East Region.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ashaiman robbery arrest<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In another development, a wanted armed robber, Aduku Wahabu Awinitit, involved in series of robberies in Ashaiman and its environs, was also nabbed in a hotel at Binaba in the Bawku West District.<\/p>\n<p>DCOP Vincent Redeemer said the suspect is currently assisting police investigations and will be transferred to Prampram and Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region for prosecution.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Frederick Awuni\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Prampram Divisional Police Command in the Greater Accra Region, has in collaboration with the Upper East Regional Police Command, arrested nine persons in Bolgatanga in connection with a robbery incident at Prampram.
