{"id":385868,"date":"2017-12-24T12:01:39","date_gmt":"2017-12-24T12:01:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=385868"},"modified":"2017-12-24T14:28:15","modified_gmt":"2017-12-24T14:28:15","slug":"robbers-attack-kumasi-sda-church-during-watchnight-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/12\/robbers-attack-kumasi-sda-church-during-watchnight-service\/","title":{"rendered":"Robbers attack Kumasi SDA church during watchnight service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three masked armed men attacked the Adoato-Adumanu branch of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church during a watchnight service in Kumasi on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The men entered the church auditorium at about 3:00am with pump-action shotguns, and two locally made pistols, and robbed members of the congregation of their belongings.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-385872\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Kumasi-Robbers-attack-SDA-church-during-watch-night-service-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Kumasi-Robbers-attack-SDA-church-during-watch-night-service-2.jpg 600w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Kumasi-Robbers-attack-SDA-church-during-watch-night-service-2-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Some items they took included, a Techno phone, a laptop computer, two iPhones, other brands of mobile phones and an unspecified amount of money.<\/p>\n<p>One of the church members, who was hit in the head with the butt of the gun by a robber, was taken to the hospital and is responding to treatment.<\/p>\n<p>The head Pastor of the Adoato branch of the SDA church, Richard Amposah Acheampong, speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>,<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>said the robbers were in the church for about\u00a045 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>He also said about GHc 8,000 may have been taken during the robbery.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the attack, the church&#8217;s head pastor said their end-of-year watch-night service will still go ahead with some extra security.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We shall make proper arrangements with the policemen\u00a0so that they will be there.
