{"id":385476,"date":"2017-12-22T12:34:05","date_gmt":"2017-12-22T12:34:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=385476"},"modified":"2017-12-22T12:34:05","modified_gmt":"2017-12-22T12:34:05","slug":"hated-school-mzvee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/12\/hated-school-mzvee\/","title":{"rendered":"I hated school \u2013 MzVee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MzVee has said in an interview with <strong>Citi FM<\/strong>\u2019s Bernard Avle on the <strong>Citi Breakfast Show<\/strong> that she did not like school during her basic school days.<\/p>\n<p>The former pupil of St. Martin De Porres School said that because she did not enjoy being in school, she always wished she finished early.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMe, I didn\u2019t like school oo. I wanted to finish early and leave,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>That notwithstanding, the \u2018Rewind\u2019 singer moved on to St Mary\u2019s Senior High School and later studied Business Administration at Ghana Telecom University.<\/p>\n<p>Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda on born 23rd June, 1992, MzVee burst onto the Ghanaian music scene in the summer of 2012 as the lead singer of Lynx Entertainment\u2019s girl band D3.<\/p>\n<p>The band, released hit singles such as \u2018Good Girls Gone Bad\u2019 and \u2018Gyani Gyani\u2019 before splitting at the end of 2013 due to educational commitments of the young group members.<\/p>\n<p>MzVee launched her solo career with debut single \u2018Borkor Borkor\u2019 released in January 2014. She followed this with hit single \u2018Natural Girl\u2019 and went on to win the \u2018Unsung Artiste Award\u2019 at the 2014 Ghana Music Awards. Her debut album was released in November 2014 and features collaborations with several award-winning artistes such as Stonebwoy, VIP, Shatta Wale, Richie Mensah, Manifest and Didier Awadi.<\/p>\n<p>Following the success of her award-winning debut album, MzVee released her second album titled \u2018Verified\u2019 in November 2015 to rave reviews.<\/p>\n<p>The album has earned MzVee 7 nominations at the 2016 Ghana Music Awards including \u2018Album of the Year\u2019 and \u2018Record of the Year\u2019 for the single \u2018Abofra\u2019 which features Efya.
